Biore - Way of Antu
First of all I have to say one thing I forgot to mention Matutes and other blog entries. It is not necessary that an area has a trail for us to walk in that area. The world is waiting for us with no footpath and just starting to discover. I grew up in rural areas, since little I got used to having my tracks and then just follow marked trails in order to have an opinion about your track.
The Baixo Vouga Lagoon is a perfect example of this. are miles and miles of paths. Do not expect the mark, put your feet on the path and discover this area so rich. It is completely flat but what it lacks in land is offset by the landscape, flora and fauna.

Well then come on to the rail pedestrian marked today. The Journey of Antu, as the name indicates, over the course Antuã, the most important river in the municipality of Estarreja, with only 6kms circular.
We can start the hike from the train station Estarreja. Actually begins a few meters on the Broad Creek Estarreja but you can go by train and see just an indication of the route.
The route is entirely composed of dirt road off a dirt where agricultural machinery are once in a while. The first section follows the river bank, with little but clean water. Sight to the fields, livestock and poultry often, especially herons do not walk too far from the cattle. Many banks of the river present excavations of crayfish, an exotic species harmful.
Flooded fields
The second part of the journey, after the lift station in reverse traverses areas flooded or filled with junk or areas of rice fields, where it is easily possible to see different species of birds from eagles to herons passing by blackbirds and crows. Of course the little sparrows that are in greater number are shown and are keen to make their presence with joyful songs. Butterflies and dragonflies are still emerging. Reptiles is that there will not be easy to spot. According to information along the way we find: siskin, warbler-the-hedges, Malhadinha, butterfly-small cabbage, horse-of-the-devil-Iberian Libelu-tailed-blue, wonder, delta-brown, toirão, weasel, mole, otter, great bat-rat-rat-of-water, slow-water-collared, frog-Iberian-bellied newt-orange, slow-water-viper, Frog green. lizard-in-water, little egret, kingfisher, sparrow, swallow-the-chimney, a water fowl, eagle-winged round. The more elusive are the fox, cuckoo, firefly-Mediterranean red heron, concerning (the time since I saw one!) And eel.
In the end still time to get their feet wet in the river despite the very low temperature of the water.
It follows therefore that it is a pedestrian path to where it is required to take at least binoculars, the lack of suitable photographic equipment. Recommended!
